Our New Addition

There's important news to share today ...

This weekend started out a little different than most. (I work 10 hour days from 9:30am to 8pm, but because of the holiday this week our hours were cut down so on Thursday and Friday I worked 7:30am to 6pm. This allowed David and I to have an actual date night on Friday!) Our usual Friday consists of me coming home around 8:15pm, having dinner, and watching Swamp People. This Friday, we went to PF Changs. Yum! I have been wanting to go since March but David usually in the mood for Chinese. I was pretty surprised when he suggested it and could not pass it up! Chicken Lettuce Wraps here we come!!!

on the way to PF Changs

Saturday morning we woke up nice and early and had plans to go to the local Pet Smart for their adoption days. (Last week they had kittens and we were quite disappointed.) Getting to Pet Smart, we were excited to see all the dogs available for adoption. There were two... yep, two dogs, and although they were very sweet - no connection was made. We took a card from the shelter representative and went on their website. There was no information about visiting the shelter to find a dog to adopt. One had to go pick a dog out from their website, apply, wait to get approved, and then schedule a visit to meet the dog. (David likes small dogs and I like big dogs, so we agreed that we would find one that we both made a connection with - that's why we wanted to meet the dog in person.)
We decided to try the Humane Society...
Meet Luka!!
There were so many adult dogs and puppies to meet and we fell in LOVE with this little guy!! In the "bonding" room, he was playful and curious, just like us. Deciding on a name was tough, I threw our so many options that all got declined until Luka.Weighing in at 5 pounds and 8 weeks old... there was our little man, Luka. He's a mix between a German Shepherd and an Australian Cattle Dog. We could not be happier!!!
isn't he precious??

Our first vet visit is this afternoon so wish us luck!!!

Party in the USA

I am having an amazing long weekend today...with Monday and Tuesday off to prepare for the Fourth of July on Wednesday. It's mostly all I can think about. Although David woke me up this morning by telling me "Happy 1 month Anniversary" ... wow that was fast!  1 month down... the rest of our lives to go!

Today is our niece Olivia's 5th birthday and our friend Eliot's 25th. I wish we could be closer so we could celebrate with them as well. Being far from friends and family is tough, we're trying to get some to move down to us. We'll see how that goes.

Back to the holiday at hand... last year we went to Isle of Palms for the day to celebrate the fourth. This year we're planning on going to downtown Greenville and possibly watch the fireworks from Falls Park. Can't wait to cookout a bit, drink some yummy drinks, and spend a Wednesday with my love. I have the cutest outfit too that I'm so excited about.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE!!

Finally Married!

So it's almost been a month since David and I tied the knot!
Can I just share how amazing of a day it was??? I honestly knew I'd be so excited to marry my best friend and love of my life, but I didn't think the rest of the day would just be perfect. Well, not PERFECT, obviously there are always things that go wrong. Surprisingly, I didn't let any of the little things get to me that day. I was either so excited/nervous or after all the months of planning, I just didn't care anymore haha.
The rehearsal dinner was not so much fun, well I guess the weather didn't want to cooperate. We were having our wedding outside and although the actual day was lovely, the afternoon of the rehearsal dinner it was cold, windy, and lightly raining. No one wanted to stand out there... we finished up pretty quick and then got to the amazing Mexican food buffet. [ We both love Mexican food!]

David and I at the rehearsal

Bar 145
Several of us were about to head out to the new casino that opened up that weekend. No one figured how packed it would be, so we heading to Bar 145 to celebrate with some drinks and live music.
One of my friends found a "Hello, my name is..." stickers and put it on David.  Although a couple days premature, we loved it!
There is so much more to the wedding weekend and honeymoon and I will keep everyone updated.

Eeek! It's been a while...

I think I'm weird since I'm apologizing in my second blog post ever. I haven't posted in almost a month and honestly, I thought I'd be a little better at this. It's been a very hectic three weeks. The future hubby has been gone the past two weekends [and parts of the week] for his bachelor party and then LA for work so we tried to get some time together since we are leaving for Ohio on Friday. Oh boy, it's creeping up on us. Whoever thought that 18 months of being engaged would go so fast.
When David [that's my fiance] left for his bachelor weekend with the boys, [[20 boys in a huge log cabin in Gatlinburg, TN]] one of my bestest friends Alecia came to keep me company for the weekend. It was so nice to have girl time, although I wish the weather had cooperated a little more. Who comes down to South Carolina to have a rainy weekend? It did give us a lot of time to hang out and talk about life, it had been long overdue. On Saturday night, my friend Carly joined us for some yummy mexican food. We tried a new place about 10 minutes from our apartment and got lost for about 15, thanks to the iPhone for telling us that it was located 3 miles from where it actually was. We kept driving around another shopping center that also had a mexican restaurant with such confusion. When we finally arrived, we had delicious food and a great time together. We went back to Carly's to play Scattergories and have a slumber party.
This past weekend, David was still gone, and I had such a relaxing time spending almost the entire time at the pool with Shades of Grey.
We are leaving for Ohio in 3 days and I am so excited!!! 12 more days until I marry my best friend, the only person that can calm me down and makes me happier than I would have ever imagined.
Can't wait!!!!

Here Goes Nothing

I did it! My very own blog...

Life is about to change drastically  [[ getting married in 34 days ]] and I don't want to forget any of it!

Moving down south from Ohio (fiance: September 2010 and me: March 2011- we got engaged in January 2011) has been such a big change. Now we're 10 hours away from our families and friends. Hopefully this blog lets them into our lives a bit more since everyone has a hectic schedule nowadays.

I love reading blogs and well why not start one of my own. I know I won't be posting everyday or sharing all details of my life but I can't wait to start this journey. Hope you enjoy following along.
